Nairobi went full carnival mode on Sunday as IShowSpeed (Darren Jason Watkins Jr.) kicked off his Kenya leg with a packed, livestream-driven run across the city—drawing huge crowds at multiple stops and dominating Kenyan social feeds for hours. Local outlets covering the visit describe it as one of the loudest receptions of his ongoing “Speed Does Africa” tour.

The day, stop-by-stop (what’s confirmed by reporting)

1) A school visit — and a rugby moment

Speed started his day at Upper Hill School, where he played rugby during the visit.

2) Kenyatta Market: “mammoth crowd” scenes

From there, he headed to Kenyatta Market, where he was met by a mammoth crowd of fans eager to see him up close. A lucky vendor received a ‘reverse bargain’ and landed a 20,000 Shilling shirt sale in the process.

3) Nairobi National Park: wildlife stop on a city safari

Speed later visited Nairobi National Park, where he fed a hyena, lions, a leopard and a cheetah, and that fans even escorted his convoy down Lang’ata Road on motorcycles.

4) Carnivore Restaurant: nyama choma, Kenyan-style

After the park, he went to Carnivore Restaurant, where he was treated to an abundance of different types of meat, as fans continued chanting outside.

5) Nairobi extras that also went viral (camel ride, Mukuru stop)

His wider Nairobi run included Uhuru Park (camel ride) and a stop at the Mukuru Affordable Housing Project, where he joined locals for a friendly basketball game—moments that helped push the livestream even further online

“Kenya is number one”: the stream numbers story

Speed said Kenya delivered his highest subscriber gain so far on the Africa tour. He describes Kenya as his most electric stop yet, citing a major spike in livestream attention and subscriber momentum during the day.

Ruto welcome + Kenya tourism angle

President William Ruto welcomed Speed to Kenya with a “Magical Kenya” message, and Kenya’s tourism channels amplified the visit as a global spotlight moment.

Maasai Mara today: what’s been reported

For Monday, Speed is set to visit Maasai Mara, citing Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano saying on X that he would be in the reserve “tomorrow.”
