Apple launched the iPhone Air — its thinnest iPhone yet — along with the full iPhone 17 lineup, featuring powerful performance upgrades and sleek new designs.

On September 9, 2025, Apple hosted its “Awe-Dropping” product event to unveil four new iPhone models — the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and a standout: the iPhone Air, now officially the thinnest iPhone ever at just 5.6 mm thick .

The iPhone Air packs impressive specs into its ultra-slim design:

  • 6.5-inch ProMotion display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and up to 3,000 nits of brightness.
  • A robust titanium frame and Ceramic Shield protection.
  • Powered by the new A19 Pro chip, with support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread via the N1 chip
  • Camera setup includes a 48 MP dual-fusion rear system, a 12 MP telephoto lens, and an 18 MP Center Stage selfie camera.
  • Apple promises all-day battery life — up to 27 hours of video playback, or 40 hours with a $99 MagSafe battery.

Preorders for the iPhone Air begin September 12, and full availability starts September 19.

Apple also announced upgrades to the rest of its line:

  • iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max now feature sharper cameras, better processing speeds, and vapor-chamber cooling for improved battery performance.
