The upcoming Kenyan Summer edition of Blankets & Wine on Sunday, 21 December 2025 at Laureate Gardens, Moi International Sports Centre (Kasarani) has confirmed a major roster of performers across live and electronic stages.

The main live stage will showcase artists from Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa. Headliners include:

  • Marioo (Tanzania) — riding the wave of his collaboration Nairobi with Kenyan star Bien.
  • Matata (Kenya) — bringing their high-energy, dance-driven rap sound.
  • Iyanii (Kenya) — making his debut performance with hit Donjo Maber.

  • MiCasa (South Africa) — house, soul and jazz veterans adding a global layer to the show.

🎧 Onja Onja Stage: Electronic & Amapiano Focus

The festival’s electronic heartbeat will pulse at the Onja Onja Stage, with big names including:

  • Scorpion Kings (South Africa)
  • Kabza De Small
  • DJ Maphorisa — all pioneers in the continental Amapiano scene.
Additional acts: UK club-producer Donae’ O (known for Party Hard, I’m Fly), and Kenya’s own Foozak, Ms Mika, Hiribae, Darkfruit & Shishi.

🛍 Culture, Crafts & Lifestyle Activation

The festival is not just music — it includes the Onja Onja Market, a curated space for Kenyan-made crafts, fashion and food. With the event booked close to holiday season, attendees can enjoy shopping alongside live sets.

đź“… Why This Matters

  • Timing & venue: Held at a large major sports venue (Kasarani), signalling growth and ambition.
  • Cross-region appeal: Artists spanning East & Southern Africa strengthen Kenya’s role as a regional music hub.
  • Festival culture: As Kenya’s live event scene evolves, this edition positions Nairobi to compete with other African destinations.
  • Consumer engagement: Market activation + cross-platform music experience gives multiple touchpoints for fans.
